Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Green Apps suite of lawn bowls applications, including Green Bowler, Green Captain, Green Score and any future apps we release (together, “the Apps”). The Apps are provided by Green Apps, a sole trader business owned and operated by Jacqueline Ridley, operating under English and Welsh law.

By creating an account or using any of the Apps, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who we are

Green Apps is a sole trader business based in England. Our contact email is contact@greenapps.co.uk.

2. Your account

To use the Apps you must register with a valid email address and create a password. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. Please do not share your account with others.

You must be aged 16 or over to create an account.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable use

The Apps are designed for personal and organisational use by lawn bowlers, team captains, clubs, and associations to record and track their own bowling activity.

You agree not to use the Apps:

• For any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• To engage in fraudulent activity, including submitting false information or attempting to obtain a refund, subscription, or feature access by deception.
• To send spam, unsolicited messages, or other unwanted communications through any feature of the Apps.
• To infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party, including by uploading content (such as scorecard photos) that you do not have the right to upload.
• To interfere with the security or integrity of the Apps, including by introducing malware or harmful code, probing or scanning for vulnerabilities, scraping data, bypassing rate limits or access controls, or attempting to access accounts or data that do not belong to you.

You may not:

• Use the Apps to record data on behalf of multiple other people as a service or on a commercial basis.
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise exploit the Apps or any data generated by them for commercial purposes.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the Apps.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or replicate any part of the Apps.

4. Fair use and account activity

The Apps are intended for individual bowlers recording their own matches and activity (Green Bowler) and by team captains to record match results, produce team sheets and analyse team performance (Green Captain) and by clubs and associations to live score matches and events (Green Score). We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that show usage patterns inconsistent with personal individual use — for example, accounts recording an unusually high volume of matches or uploading large quantities of data in a way that suggests the account is being used to record data for multiple other people.

If we have concerns about your account activity we will contact you at your registered email address before taking any action, unless the activity is clearly abusive or in breach of these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Each app includes a way to try it before committing to a purchase — no payment is required upfront.

Some apps use an annual subscription model. Where subscriptions are used, they are billed annually and renew automatically unless cancelled. You will receive an email reminder before your renewal date. Subscription prices are as advertised on the relevant app's pricing page at the time of purchase.

Some apps use a one-time event credit pack model — credits are purchased in bundles, never expire, and are consumed as you use the app. Details of the payment model for each app are advertised on the relevant app's pricing page.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles card processing and billing securely on our behalf — we do not store your payment card details. Green Apps is the seller of record and is responsible for VAT/tax where applicable. By purchasing you also agree to Stripe's terms of service (linked at checkout).

6. Cancellation

Where a subscription is in place, you may cancel at any time from within the app under account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you will retain access until that date.

One-time credit pack purchases are non-refundable except as set out in our Refund Policy.

7. Refunds

Please see our Refund Policy for full details. In summary, we offer a 30-day refund from the date of subscription purchase. Requests outside this window may be considered at our discretion.

8. Your data

Your data belongs to you. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details of how we collect, store, and protect your data. You can export or delete your data at any time from within the App. In Green Captain, squad member data (player names and performance records) that you enter is also your data as captain. You are responsible for ensuring that personal data you enter about others is handled appropriately. See the Privacy Policy for your responsibilities as a data controller.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Apps available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, updates, or improvements from time to time.

We reserve the right to change or discontinue features of the Apps, or to update these Terms. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the Apps after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Limitation of liability

The Apps are provided in good faith and we take care to ensure they work correctly. However, we cannot accept liability for any loss of data, loss of income, or other losses arising from your use of the Apps, except where required by law.

AI-generated content within any of our apps (such as season summaries) is data-driven and intended for informational purposes only. It does not guarantee specific competitive outcomes or athletic results.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

11. Intellectual property

The Apps, including all content, features, design and underlying code, are the property of Green Apps. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the Apps without our written permission.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
